From 2 April 2025, Europeans will need a Euros 12 Electronic Travel Authorisation permit to enter the UK. However, it is not a Visa; it is a digital security lock for those who do not require a Visa to visit the United Kingdom. The UK government is taking the last few significant steps to roll out the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for the millions of travelers who pass through the UK border yearly. From today, eligible Europeans can apply for an ETA request, though travelers need the ETA permit from 2 April 2025 onwards. Significantly, the UK's New Electronic Travel Authorisation follows the successful rollout of ETAs to all qualified non-European travelers last year, including visitors from the USA, Canada, and Australia who need the ETA to travel.
ETA is beneficial for smoother and easier travel to the UK, whether for a business trip or a short vacation, as it is not a Visa but a digital security Check. Significantly, it will strengthen the UK immigration system's security and keep the country safe by screening people before they set foot in the UK.

European travelers and other visitors who do not require a Visa to enter the UK but need a UK Travel Permit 2025 to visit. Significantly, passengers can apply for an ETA using a mobile app. It is one of the quickest and most convenient methods to get the permit and the decision email within three business days. As Per the rules, every traveler needs an ETA permit, including infants under two years and children under 18 years. If you failed to download the App due to technical faults, you can apply for the permit online. Thus, to complete the application, you must keep the passport, email address, Credit Card, Debit Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay details handy, although you are not required to fill in the travel details. Once the process is complete, the ETA will be linked to the passport digitally.
