Yes, customers can once again enjoy Cathay Pacific's elevated first-class service on some of the popular flights. The Cathay Pacific is now back with first-class travel and amazing services. It continues to add more flights and destinations for its customers. The airline's raised first-class service is also making its much-expected return. The airline will soon begin flying a handful of Airbus A330 jets fitted with two very different business-class seats.

The airline offers various other services, including business class, premium economy class, and economy. The airline offers amazing services and facilities in each of the travel classes. Now, when it is back with the first-class regional, it will be very beneficial for the customers or the passengers. Some of the travellers will soon be able to upgrade from Cathay's regional business class recliners to a flatbed berth.

The bulk of the business class cabin sports the regional business class recliners, which are familiar to many of the travellers making the short hops around Asia. But up front are eight seats that are superior in every way, from privacy, personal space, and the size of the video screen to becoming a fully lie-flat bed. This was the way the airline was marketed as the first class on its regional Cathay Dragon arm, which was folded into the Cathay Pacific in late 2020 and, until 2016, was known as Dragonair.

About Cathay Pacific First Class:-

The Cathay Dragon/Dragonair first class seat was identical to the Cathay Pacific's own international business class except for the minor details of trim and finish. Now, the airline is bringing those ex-cathay dragon A330s back to the skies. As per the airline, this first class is designed to strike the perfect balance from the refined dining menus to the luxurious bedding and the amenities and the warm and thoughtful service, which will result in helping the travellers to have a comfortable and unforgettable travel experience with the Cathay Pacific First class.

As per the airline, four A330-300 aircraft, which were previously parked at Alice Springs during the pandemic, will progressively re-enter service from the second quarter of 2025. These aircraft will be deployed on the regional routes. In case you are booked in the business class on one of those jets, you might be able to swap from 2-2-2 business class recliners to one of the 1-2-1 'first class' seats. While the Cathay Dragon numbered their business class cabin from row 10, those with the first class added the eight flatbed seats at rows 1 and 2.

The airline confirmed that those former first-class flatbed seats would be in business class—at the exact same price as the recliners. "Customers may choose their seats based on the fare or ticket type and their Cathay membership tier before the flight's departure."

The following "Cathay membership tier" would typically be the top diamond level, although it is not known if the same seat selection process would be extended to one-world emeralds such as the Qantas Platinum and Platinum One Frequent Flyer.

So, the seat map of your upcoming regional Cathay Pacific A330 flight shows rows 1 and 2; click on any of those seats for a markedly better ride. Also, on the A330 front, Cathay Pacific has now chosen a new lie-flat regional business class seat that will launch in 2026 and replace those recliners. Cathay Pacific is also scoping out the business class options for its forthcoming Airbus A30neo fleet, with the 30 jets due for the Hong Kong hangers between 2028 and 2031.
